Eden Ranch: Intimate Equestrian Instruction Through Liberty Training
Eden Ranch is a caribbean equestrian school dedicated to teaching the art of human-equine symbiosis through the use of the Liberty Training Technique. Students have the unique privilege of learning in a herd setting, where they can witness their lessons occur first hand in a natural environment.

If you like big beach resorts, with many tourists, entertainers, group games and activities, music, cocktails and organized tours....
this is not Eden Ranch. We are a small, private ranch with a tranquil, peaceful environment and we strive hard to keep it that way. We do enjoy days at the beach, trips to town, to the flea market, farmers market and so, but not every day. Most of the time we prefer to experience the wonders of our land, to stay at the ranch with our horses and gardens. Sometimes we organize private tours for our guests, we play ping pong or cards in the evening, visit the local Dominican disco, and Saturday... it's pizza night, home-made Italian pizza. If you're looking for peace, healthy activities in nature, interacting with horses living free in the pasture, quiet evenings and beautiful sunsets, then... YES, Eden Ranch is a place for you.
If you're looking for a big, American style ranch, with immense prairies to be covered by horseback, many employees, tractors and machines, big plantations, mansion and guest quarters... this is NOT Eden Ranch. We live on an island, there are not immense prairies. Eden Ranch is a 15 acre mountain top parcel, and it's just the two of us with one or two Haitian workers. There is one cottage reserved for our guests, max. two people. If you enjoy a family type set up, where you can have the feeling of living here as part of the whole project, where you are an active participant of the daily life at the ranch, then... YES, you'll love Eden Ranch.
If you feel you can't give up luxury in your life, if you need to have everything you want right here and now, if you prefer not to have any kind of challenge.... Eden Ranch is probably NOT for you. If you appreciate a more simple life and find beauty in it, if you love nature and don't mind the sounds of crickets and frogs in the night, and being awaken by a concert of birds. If you're okay finding out that a spider was watching you while taking a shower... if you understand that when you travel every country is different from your own and are curious about other cultures and other life-styles, if you can be enchanted by a breathtaking sunrise and sunsets, if you are eager to learn, and even thrive in challenges when they appear in your life, if you can smile about everything and take whatever life has to offer, then... Why we prefer our way
Even though we have many requests, as for now we chose to keep it small because we like to give undivided attention to our guests. We love to teach and share our knowledge about horses and plants. We find that this gives more possibility for learning and actively being involved. It's not a group of participants where everyone has to follow the same program at the same pace, giving little space for personal input and practice. Our guests are part of our family during their stay, so they can ask as many questions they need, they can express their opinion and even give their input. Most of all, they have plenty of time to practice under our personal guidance and supervision what they have learned.
